Save a chart and add it to a dashboard

Saving does more than preserve a query: it defines how your team will find the chart.

Use a name that explains the content

A simple formula:

Machine · measure · period or purpose

Clear examples:

• CPPW · Speed per minute
• Extruder 3 · Temperature today
• THHN_3 · Stop minutes per day

Avoid Test, New chart, or CPPW 2.

Save

1. Click Save.
2. Enter a clear, unique name.
3. Choose a target dashboard when needed.
4. Review who will be the owner.
5. Click Save or Save and go to dashboard.

Name, dashboard, and owner reduce duplicates and abandoned content.

Add it to a dashboard later

1. Open the target dashboard.
2. Enter Edit dashboard.
3. Find the chart in the components panel.
4. Drag it onto the canvas.
5. Resize it without leaving large empty spaces.
6. Save the dashboard.

Think about reports before leaving empty space

A PNG report captures the dashboard’s actual height. Empty rows can make the file unnecessarily long.
